Seasonal Pricing: We rent only by the week in summer, with a two night minimum the rest of the year.
Paradise Cottage is both a cabin in the woods and a cottage by the sea. Nestled between woods and gardens, with water views in two directions, it’s built on a hill across the road from beautiful Linekin Bay.
This cozy and inviting coastal retreat offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living/dining area and a small kitchen – all on one level.
The rooms are connected by a wide hallway with floor-to-ceiling windows offering expansive views of the wooded hillside. A shaded deck wraps around two sides of this charming cottage, with outdoor seating for enjoying the fresh salt sea air and views of the bay, gardens and woods.
This cabin rental near Boothbay Harbor, Maine is located just three miles from the town’s shops and restaurants.
As a guest of Paradise Cottage, you may use our private pebble beach on a cove shared by our two properties. In summer, the sun warms the beach pebbles, resulting in some of the warmest water for swimming in Mid-coast Maine. This shore is also a great place to store and launch your kayaks, or borrow our three sit-on-tops after signing a release. Enjoy the picnic table nestled under shade trees by the cove.
Paradise Cottage is mostly carpeted. The main room includes a wood stove for which we provide firewood, the dining area, sofa, and a small, but complete kitchen. The two baths, and washer & dryer combine to make your stay quite comfortable. Both ceiling and portable fans are provided. Additional winter heat is supplied by three Rinnai heaters. The keyboards are easy to manage if you don’t push too many buttons in rapid succession. They are basic: on/off; up/down.
The middle bedroom has a queen bed and the washer and dryer in the closet next to an extra vanity sink. This is a delightful room with large windows looking out to both the front and back.
The larger end bedroom has two four poster twin beds that can be put together to form a king. It has its own small bathroom tucked in a corner, with a normal sized shower.
A larger main bath is located off the hall and has a small shower.
Rest, relax, or read while you take in the beautiful natural surroundings, or go to Boothbay Harbor, just three miles away for gourmet restaurants, boat cruises, shops, art galleries, and more.

In the summer of 1952 my father framed the main section of Paradise Cottage for my grandmother who had previously bought the land on the southeast side of Paradise Point Road from the neighbor. The original rectangle contained the kitchen, one bathroom, and the large room. She furnished it including two twin beds which doubled as sofas, a tea wagon sort of table, and a desk. She later hired a carpenter to add the next bedroom with access through the bathroom.
When I acquired the property in 1997, I added the back hall and the second bedroom, and it was our home. My husband, Ron, incorporated the second bathroom into the corner of the large end bedroom ten years later when we decided to rent the cottage and moved to the shop upstairs apartment.
Paradise Cottage was a comfortable little house in which to live. We hope you enjoy its bay views and intimacy with the forest and gardens as much as we did.
My husband, best friend and myself love Linekin Bay. We have returned many times to Boothbay and always find this area quiet, peaceful and beautiful. This is a requirement for us- very important. In 2024, it was our 1st stay at at Paradise Cottage. We found Mary Ellen very accomodating, responsive and the cottage perfect for 3 of us. The kitchen is small but beyond efficient. Really easy to use. And the views from our living area AND bedrooms, so much glass and sun !! We loved it and plan to return in the near future.
June 11, 2024 My wife, Springer Spaniel, and I just returned from a 2-week vacation at the Seanook resort cottage in East Boothbay Maine. I can say without hesitation that the three of us had a wonderful time. We were in the the Paradise Cottage, which has a wonderful setting in the woods with a terrific view of the bay. The cottage was an extremely comfortable getaway spot in a quiet and scenic neighborhood. The owner, Mary Ellen Serina, was a wonderful hostess. She was available every day and was quick to solve every minor problem that we might have. The property is an easy 10 minute drive from Boothbay Harbor, and a starting point for many of the nearby towns and marine spots in the area. My wife and I highly recommend this property to anyone who is interested in exploring mid-coastal Maine.
I spent the morning after our arrival exploring all the nooks and crannies inside this Paradise Cottage and outside – taking it all in! We also took a boat ride around to familiarize ourselves with the region. the morning walk across the earthen dam to the East Boothbay General Store, the walk along the coast at Ocean Point, the sunset drive we took on Southport Island and watching the sunset at Newagen Harbor our last night here!! The Botanical Gardens are beautiful. Our little engineer loved the Boothbay Railway Village, and Pemaquid Point. I don’t know how we saw all this in such a brief visit, but I have no regrets! Enjoy your stay!
