Paradise Cottage, Maine Cabin overlooking Linekin Bay.  Vacation rental cottage, year-round, Saturday to Saturday in summer, with WIFI

Our sheltered cove extends to the right, and the pebble beach goes down to the water but is all covered at high tide. We have an 8′ or more of tidal shift twice a day.
The photo above shows the private parking area for Paradise Cottage and the cove beyond. Although these front stairs are quite steep, alternate access at the east end of the building has just 4 steps to get up to the deck. Once there you will gain easy entrance to the entire cabin/cottage as it is laid out all on one level, and every room has a door to the deck.

As guests at Paradise Cottage, you share with guests at Seanook the use of our pebble beach on our sheltered cove.  The swimming here is the best on the bay because the water warms as the tide comes in over the sun-drenched pebbles, and warmth remains captured in the cove as long as the wind stays out of the southwest.  This beach is also a great place to store and launch your kayaks or ours. You are welcome to borrow our personal sit-on-top kayaks after signing our release; we now have two singles and one seating two people. Linekin Bay is wonderful for kayaking as it has no rivers emptying into it and thus no strong currents.

View from the porch eating area with gas grill overlooking Linekin Bay

This porch extends around two sides of the building and leads you right into the garden.  A pleasant, eating area on the porch-end facing the bay includes a maple tree that grows through a hole in the floor and shades the table and chairs. This part of the deck is a private outside retreat while also affording a calming view of the water. Relax and breathe in the fresh, clean, and invigorating salty sea breeze! On the deck here is a gas grill, left foreground in the photo of the deck eating area on the right.

Potted plants and boxes of impatiens which last from mid-June until mid-September decorate the porch and blend it into the garden.   Inside is a great room with a living area that includes floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of bay views (photo at the bottom of this page), a dining table, and a small but complete kitchen in a separate corner that looks out toward the cove. Next to the kitchen is an efficient wood stove, which effectively heats this room. Please see the “Inside Photos” of Paradise Cottage to get a sense of the layout. Wireless internet is obtainable throughout the house, which also boasts an automatic whole-house generator.

The washer/dryer is concealed in the closet of the middle bedroom along with a vanity sink
The wide hall connects all the rooms at Paradise Cottage with views to the back and a writing desk

The two bedrooms are accessed down a wide hall that has four large windows looking into the woods behind. Also off the hall is one bathroom.  The washer/drier is included in the closet of the middle bedroom along with an iron and ironing board, and an extra vanity sink. This middle bedroom (photo top) has a queen-sized bed and views of the cove and bay with lobster boats on one side, and the mossy woods through the floor-to-ceiling hall windows on the other — enjoyed only if you leave the curtains open!

Master bedroom with twin beds put together as a king.

There is a second bathroom integral to the large end bedroom, which has four-poster twin beds that can be put together to make a king with advance request. Both bedrooms have doors opening onto the deck. Be sure to sleep with the window ajar or the door open so you can hear waves sloshing along the shore at high tide while you snooze and wake up to birdsong in the morning.  In March listen for owls hooting at night. April evenings are joyous with the calls of

returning Laughing Gulls and peepers singing from the pond. Loons call year-round, but more in winter. In addition to the sounds of nature, you should listen for the various pitches of distant fog horns drifting in through your open window as you fall asleep at night.

On advance request, we can provide a booster chair with a removable tray and/or a porta-crib.

Small but convenient kitchen has everything you need to make delectable meals.

Kitchen Amenities: Tucked into the compact kitchen are a dishwasher, a refrigerator, a small four-burner gas cook stove with oven, a microwave, lobster pot, two coffee makers, a toaster oven, cookware and utensils, and some spices and cooking staples.  For food supplies are close at hand.

Hannaford groceries and Pinkham’s Gourmet Seafood Market both offer many alternative and healthy choices, and together with Brown’s Farm Stand and our local delightful Farmer’s Market open from 9 – noon Thursday mornings on the Boothbay Common (both of the latter closed in winter), all offer the makings for delectable meals.  Atlantic Edge Lobsters will cook for you, so you can bring their fare back to the cottage for your own private enjoyment without much clean-up.  If you live somewhere else in Maine, in Vermont or New Hampshire, come for a change of scene. Snuggle in and enjoy in this cottage by the sea, our cabin rental in Maine!

We hope you will find Paradise Cottage to be a delightful and relaxing spot!
